The BTD-350 Thunderstorm Detector is a high-performance, standalone sensor that detects all forms of lightning within a range of 83km, ideal for applications such as wind energy, aviation, and offshore operations. Using a unique quasi-electrostatic principle, it provides early warnings of overhead lightning risk, even before the first discharge. The detector is highly immune to radio interference, reducing false alarms, and can detect both cloud-to-ground and common cloud-to-cloud lightning. It meets FAA and EN50536:2011 standards and is certified for marine use, ensuring reliable performance in harsh environments. The BTD-350 is virtually maintenance-free and includes optional alarm relay functionality for automatic storm alerts.
