Description
The BTD-300 Thunderstorm Detector is a long-range standalone lightning and thunderstorm detector designed for safety-critical sites. It detects cloud-to-ground, cloud-to-cloud and intra-cloud lightning up to 83 km and monitors atmospheric electric-field changes and charged precipitation to provide earlier warning of developing storm risk.
Its quasi-electrostatic sensing principle provides strong immunity to radio-frequency interference and supports a false alarm rate below 2%. The unit can communicate over RS422 or Ethernet, with optional relay outputs and optional storm direction finding.
