Description
The BTD-300 Thunderstorm Detector is a high-performance, standalone sensor that detects all forms of lightning up to 83km, making it ideal for applications like wind energy, aviation, and offshore operations. Using a unique quasi-electrostatic principle, it offers a very low false alarm rate and can detect cloud-to-cloud lightning, which is often missed by traditional radio-based systems. The BTD-300 provides early warnings of overhead lightning risk before the first strike, and it is immune to radio interference. With an optional warning relay and compatibility with PC software, this detector ensures safety and complies with FAA and EN50536:2011 standards for thunderstorm detection.
